Meet Laura Rader. She is a guild member/potter at Rising Sun Pottery, Studio and Gallery. Rising Sun Pottery, Studio & Gallery is located in the newly emerging art district of historic downtown Lincolnton, North Carolina.

Laura began working with clay when she moved to North Carolina in 2000, taking classes at Rising Sun Pottery with accomplished potter, Gary Lee. While attending classes, she gained experience in throwing and hand building using different clay bodies and firing methods: electric and raku. And she began selling her pottery in the gallery at Rising Sun Pottery.

After a while, an opening came available to become a guild member of Rising Sun Pottery and Studio. She now has her own space in the studio where she creates functional and non-functional pottery. Laura has attended the week long Wild Acres workshop in Marion, North Carolina presented by Jinny Hargrave of Carolina Clay Connection in Charlotte, NC and Gary Lee of Rising Sun Pottery. She has also taken classes from accomplished potter Andrew Linton of Pottery Central in Charlotte, NC.

Laura has endeavored into a technique called sgraffito that allows her to inscribe the Newfoundland dog onto the pottery. You can see Laura’s work by stopping in and visiting Rising Sun Pottery Studio and Gallery or visit her work online.

I can take orders over the phone and via email. Simply email me for further details.

I can customize pottery orders to fit your needs. There is a 50% deposit required before order is started. Balance is due when pottery is picked up or balance must be received before pottery is shipped. Shipping not included in price. I ask that orders be placed in advance from anywhere of 1 month to 6 months depending on the type and size of pottery ordered. I do try to have pottery in the studio available for purchase.
